Now that it is getting warmer, I thought it would be a good idea to pull the bike out and go for a "short" ride. I have not been on any serious bike rides this year so I should have just gone on a shorter ride to ease my way into it. Well, that was at least the initial plan, until I started riding. As I was riding, it seemed as if the Kennecott Copper mine was just so close. I thought it would be a good idea to go to the mine entrance. We do have to remember the road is like a roller coaster to get there and a nice hill at the end right before the mine. Of course, I was not giving up even though my legs felt like jelly. It took all I had to make it home. I was so weak I could not make it up some of the hills on the way back. I was out riding for a total of 3 and a half hours. I got home and google-mapped the distance. It ended up being a total of 28.4 miles. I don't think I will be doing that ride again any time soon. I am now feeling the consequences of my actions with throbbing muscles and a bright red sunburn.
Also, Kay's 23rd birthday was this past Tuesday, May 5. Happy Birthday, Kay!!!

Way to "ease into it"!!
We thought of you while we were driving to see our families yesterday. We don't know how you made it up the first hill, let alone the rest of the way! We think we will just take your word for it that it was a hard ride!
So when are you signing up for your first triathlon? You've obviously got the bike training down.
